1. How long have you been volunteering at CTRC?
This September I marked 24 years as a CTRC volunteer.
2. What inspired you to start volunteering at CTRC?I was inspired to start volunteering at CTRC after the events of 911. I decided individual acts of kindness was a way I could help make the world a better place. As a registered nurse and a life long horse lover, CTRC provided the perfect instrument for me to do that.
3. What is your favorite part of volunteering with us?
My favorite part of volunteering is arriving at CTRC and being surrounded by happy horses, friendly volunteers, helpful staff, eager participants, and a beautiful facility. It’s always a great day to be at CTRC.
4. What would you say to someone considering volunteering here?
Be open to learning and sharing yourself with a great group of people and animals.
5. Who is your favorite horse?
I love them all, but my barn buddy, Saunder, is the best!
6. What do you like to do outside of your time at CTRC?
I enjoy playing pickleball and hiking with friends. Currently, I’m in the process of helping my 3rd grandchild learn to drive by giving him the opportunity to drive me around town. I have nerves of steel!
