Volunteer of the Month Interview Questions:

1. How long have you been volunteering at CTRC? About 10 months (not really sure of my start date)

2. What inspired you to start volunteering at CTRC? I have admired and supported the mission of CTRC for many years and have wanted to volunteer ever since we donated my daughter’s horse, Bubba, to CTRC 7 years ago. This past year my schedule finally allowed time to commit regular weekly volunteer sessions.

3. What is your favorite part of volunteering with us? Being a part of an organization that serves so many people through equine therapy is in itself rewarding. Some of my favorite aspects are interacting with the clients we serve, getting to know and working alongside so many dedicated fellow volunteers and the CTRC staff, and of course helping care for the horses that make this all possible.

4. What would you say to someone considering volunteering here? Don’t hesitate to come and explore the opportunities! Training is provided and whether or not you have horse experience, you will learn new things about the fascinating way equine assisted therapies can help people of all ages and abilities thrive.

5. What do you like to do outside of your time at CTRC? I do some trail riding, both on horseback and bicycles and hike as much as possible. I also enjoy music and often spend evenings at local concerts and venues that have live bands performing.
